Healthy Living

Often people confuse about healthy living with eating healthy, but apart from this there are lot more elements to it. Healthy living is not about being physically fit but mentally fit as well.

Quick tips on how to attain a healthy living.

Healthy Teeth Fitness

Oral care starts with taking good care of your teeth. There are unlimited reasons to keep your teeth healthy. The comfort of staying together, chewing nutritious food, give sparkling smiles to your loved ones, it’s all starts with healthy teeth and gums.

How to stay slim?

For some people staying at a healthy weight can be synonymous with sacrifice. I think we can all agree on this point? And it’s fair to say in this day and age, it is challenging to maintain healthy eating while leading a face paced lifestyle which society demands.

Salmon

Omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon, swordfish, and tuna -- are one of the healthier forms of fat. And now, a study shows that they may also help relieve depression.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate helps to release serotonin and relaxes the blood vessels of the cardiovascular system. Just remember that dark chocolate is incredibly calorie-dense, with about 150 calories per ounce.

Walnut

Walnuts are perfect for depression, offering the combined mood-boosting properties of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B6 and tryptophan.

Green tea

L-theanine, an amino acid found in green tea that can cross the blood-brain barrier and may be able to get the brain to produce more serotonin. Serotonin itself cannot cross the blood-brain barrier and must be produced in the brain if it is to be used in the brain.

Bananas

Bananas contain tryptophan. Combined with the benefits of B vitamins, the conversion of tryptophan into serotonin, the so-called "happy hormone," helps improve mood and overall feelings of well-being.

Asparagus

Asparagus has high levels of folate and tryptophan. Tryptophan produces serotonin in the brain that stabilises moods. Therefore asparagus is a great vegetable to improve you mood as it contains both, folate and tryptophan.

Spinach

Asparagus has high levels of folate and tryptophan. Tryptophan produces serotonin in the brain that stabilises moods. Therefore asparagus is a great vegetable to improve you mood as it contains both, folate and tryptophan.

Turkey

"Turkey is the best food we know of because of its tryptophan content," says Robin H-C, a life coach, behaviorist, and author of Thinking Your Way to Happy! "This chemical stimulates serotonin production, which is a natural feel-good chemical your body produces."

Fresh Eggs

B vitamins and protein. B vitamins can help lessen the severity of depression symptoms. B vitamins, especially B-6 and B-12, can help improve neural function.

One of the many questions new clients have for me when they want to find out about weight loss programs to shrink a dress size or two is, like a good friend of mine put it, “what food sacrifices are involved”. My short answer is usually “none”.

If you are still reading this after looking at the picture on the left and haven’t run to the kitchen to get yourself some chocolate I applaud your incredible will power.  You will be pleased to know that you are just about to learn some of the ways in which chocolate, or more precisely cocoa, is good for you and can even help you lose weight.
